HEY you lot, i just had my first day at college the first student i spoke to was like u want weed ? lol how fuck up is our society lol big shout out to south gate college though lol and well here it is my interview with the ’Grime-minister ‘
btw this was my first interview and im interviewing my idol lethal bizzle how sick he properly got me into grime.
With the release of Lethal’s new video entitled “going out tonight” I went to the video launch of his second single from the new album “go hard” which was held at the recently opened Sanctum Soho Hotel. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because it was recently featured on the BBC’s 3-part documentary, Rock and Roll Hotel. Oddly, and despite the BBC’s apt name for it, this was the last place that I would have envisaged going to for the video launch of any grime mc. Basically I was one of the only grime heads at what was really a quite posh hotel.
However, had a nice chat with bizzle about the grime scene in general and about the beefs.
I talked to Bizzle about Tempa T who has, in my opinion, revived the grime scene and has just dominated all the dances . Bizzle agreed that Tempa T had brought back the hype in grime and said that he really enjoyed his new video next hype. He also mentioned that he had put his video on his blog and on his facebook account.
Earlier that day, I had heard Bizzle’s new album for the first time and I spoke to him about that trademark Bizzle sound. Lethal has kept the album grimey and most of the tracks are really hyped and if , like me, you are one of Bizzle’s loyal fans who stood by him and bought both of his previous albums, you will fall in love with the new one.
We talked about his go hard tour and I mentioned that I would be seeing him for the second year running at Reading this year. We also talked about the fist time I saw him live at Islington academy a few years back.
We dicussed how the grime scene is at the moment and went on to discuss certain grime artists in some depth. Bizzle claimed that grime is at its best position atm and it just keeps on improving, with many grime artists branching out and exploring different genre’s. He said that when grime first started out, there was only 4 people including him pushing the scene forward Kano,Dizzee Rascal and Wiley. And he explained that grime mcs who are branching out, are going into the charts. You can keep doing grime but he said u need to make money and u have to grow as a artist. Which brings me to the 3 big grime album releases in June – Skepta’s (Microphone Champion), Wiley’s (Race Against Time) and Bash’s (Catch Me If You Can). Bizzle bought all three of these albums and commented that Bashy has progressed a lot and Wiley too, has gone really old school and kept it grimey and he thought all three albums were really good .
A few months a go I went to the launch of Skepta’s album, which I mentioned to bizzle, There was an on going beef between Bizzle and Jammer at that point and grime daily.com arrived at the launch and started filming jammer who was really chatting a lot of shit, although I still respect him. I was in the back ground laughing my head off, while the filming was going on, because it was quite funny even though I’m on Bizzle’s side and he was like to me “hey that was u in the video init fam” (the video is missing on grime daily lol ) :(
and I was like yeah and Bizzle was like I bet u told jammer that i was a dick head and I strongly denied what bizzle said.I told Bizzle that I thought it was quite funny. I asked him what’s going on with this beef then and basically a few weeks ago Jammer phoned up Bizzle because Dizzee Rascal phoned up Jammer and was like to Jammer we shouldn’t be fighting and we are the kings of this and we are all here just to make our money and share the wealth and we are all Kings in this game so that beef is really over. And might I say, you have to check the tune Bizzle merked Jammer, it’s brilliant and it’s so fucking funny

I asked bizzle what the best thing was that had happened in his career so far and he said it was just being him and making music and to make music that he is fully in control of and that he is happy that he is himself and he pleases the fans. I asked him what the best clash he ever had was and he said it was with Wiley

In the end the video wasn’t even shown because the projector was not working properly so the their was already a free bar but then the manager of the hotel said hes going to put some more money on the bar and lethal b encouraged everyone to get drunk so I got wankered which was brilliant but I had one of the best nights of my life meeting one of the best grime mcs. Lethal bizzle got me realy into grime and made me fall in love with the genre and he is such a crucial part of the grime scene .
